Addy on Tour

We took the Addison Show on tour to California last weekend to see a few people, sign a few autographs, and kiss a few babies.
Just kidding!

I really did not take enough photos over the weekend and several of them were taken with my phone (the pics below). The first picture was of Addy on her first plane ride. She did so well! She played, she flirted, she slept on both flights....such a good baby! Addy got to meet her great-grandparents, cousin William, and her Uncle Matthew w/ the "cool family". Grandma E showed her how to crawl and she gave Grandpa D his first Addy hug. I think the above picture sums up how much fun she had.

7 Months Old!

She is growing up so fast! Addy is working on crawling and we are still waiting for that tooth to come through. She can sit up on her own but can't yet push herself up to a sitting position.

Addy is quite the talker and today she said MAMA for the first time!! She was saying it all afternoon until she saw dad and then it was back to DADA.
Addy can also give kisses now which is so much fun. She will open her mouth as wide as it will go and plant one on your check and then it is your turn to kiss her check and back and forth until she is bored with you!

Addy and Daddy

Happy Fathers Day!

Addy adores her Daddy! He gets big smiles when he comes home and when you tell her we are going to go look for daddy she gets very excited. When she hears his voice over the phone she looks down the hall to see if he is coming. She has John's hazel eyes and his hair color. She now loves the water and sneezes in sets of two or three like John. And of course her first "word" was dada.

This is Addy's favorite perch. She will stay sitting there for ten's of minutes playing with his shoelaces.

We spent most of Father's Day traveling but they found a bit of down time to cuddle.

Addy loves a good story.

We affectionately call John the "Daddy Pillow". Every night Addy curls up on John's stomach to go to sleep. She will not stay asleep and he cannot go to sleep until she has had the appropriate amount of Daddy Pillow time.

Happy Birthday Auntie Rie-Rie

Auntie Rie-Rie came out to visit for her birthday unfortunately her birthday plans did not go, umm, as planned (see Marie's blog). We took Addy to her first theater movie today. She watched half of it and spent the other half either upside down or stealing Marie's straw.
This week we learned that Addy has Marie's sharp nails and ability to scream (which she tested in several stores).

I got a few more hours of sleep then usual thanks to Auntie Rie-Rie (come visit anytime!) and Addy had a blast playing with her but I think poor Auntie Rie-Rie is babied out for awhile.

A Taste of Fort Collins

Today we went to the Taste of Fort Collins festival in, you guessed it, Fort Collins. The festival hosts different restaurants from around town, artists, and bands. The restaurants have samples of their menu that you can try for one to two dollars or a plate for four to six dollars.

My genius moment of the day: loop the "seat belt" through the toy and she can't toss it on the ground!

Addy posed for a caricature and (I have to brag) she was drawing a little bit of a crowd

I think it turned out pretty good!

Nothing can distract Addy from her toy!

An Afternoon at the Museum

Auntie Rie-Rie is visiting us for a couple of weeks. Today Marie wanted to see the Denver Natural History Museum. We didn't get to see everything but Marie got to practice docking a space shuttle, Addy and I walked across Mars, we took in nature, had a pow-wow in a wigwam, payed our respects to the mummy's, and did some window shopping in the gem department.

Addy looooooves Auntie Rie-Rie

I think you will see this look in the fall fashion shows

In the gem and mineral exhibit (my personal favorite)
we saw a 10,900 carat topaz. At that size it just looks fake!

Addy liked the gem and mineral exhibit. She insisted on being taken out of her stroller so she could see better. She couldn't take her eyes off the nuggets of gold. The child has good taste!

Alas, Marie was eaten by an eight and a half foot brown bear who didn't appreciate her acting

A Day In The Life...

Addy had a big day today. We started off with a bottle and some sweet potatoes. I thought I would try a vegetable since she is not to fond of any of the fruits so far. She had the same fondness, or lack there of, for the sweet potatoes.

After her morning nap we ran some errands, one of which was to the Once Upon A Child store to pick up some "gently used" items. Addy and I picked out a jumper for $12, a high chair for $35 and some toy blocks for $3. I love that place!

Addy figured out the jumper pretty quickly and was bouncing all over the place.

(Sorry the video is sideways again but totally worth it)

Addy looks so tiny in this high chair!

I started giving Addy crackers this week and we now have cracker crumbs and mush all over the house! Luckily we have three four-legged vacuums.

This afternoon Addy had banana's and cereal which she accepted like any other strained food, with her mouth clamped shut. After sneaking half of the meal into her mouth I let her try to feed herself and, surprise, surprise, the foods not as bad when you get to feed yourself!

Addy can say DaDa now which John thinks is the greatest thing ever!

We all went out to dinner tonight and then walked around the promenade shops in Loveland for awhile. Addy gave us a little, okay BIG, present on the way home, and needed a little soak time.

This is the first bath that John has given Addy. He was concerned about hurting her since she was so little but know that she is sitting up he decided to give it a try (or I made him...it's a little hazy).

We capped off the night sitting on the patio in front of the fire.

Good day.
