Loveland Arts and Crafts Show

Two Saturdays ago we went to the Loveland Arts and Crafts Show. We decided last minute to go Saturday morning in an attempt to miss the heat of the afternoon and the high temps expected on Sunday. It was a nice thought anyway. It was WARM! We ended up speed walking the event because of the heat and Addy's wonderful mood. Oh, well. I think I will go child-free next year so I can hover longer.

Love Slug

I thought these purses were neat. The handles are bungee cord.

I had heard about the little train at North Lake Park but had never actually seen it in the 10 years I have lived here. It is a cute little train. I think it runs on the weekends during the summer. $.75 per person is not bad for the short ride.

It was a great show with lots of great booths. I am looking forward to it next year. For more check this out.

My Fair Baby

We went to opening night of the Larimer County Fair tonight. Compared to the fair I grew up going to it is tiny but, on the up side, less crowded.

The first thing on Addy's agenda was to ride a pony. She was thrilled with her steed Daisy. Ever since her ride she has been asking us for a pony of her own.

"(sigh) I wish I had a real pony at home."
" I would love a pony."
"I wish Daisy could come home with me."

And so it begins, 15 years of her begging for a horse like I did to my parents. It has come full circle. For now she is somewhat satisfied with the fact that ponies have to live on a farm and we don't live on a farm.

The petting zoo was neat. I have never seen a camel in a petting zoo before and Addy got to pet a Cracker Jack (llama for those of you not in the know!)

Addy kicked butt at the fishing carnival game.
She won a little mouse that she named Teddy Bear.

When I was reviewing the pictures I took at the fair I had to laugh at these three. They were captivated by a red balloon floating away.

Okay how awesome is this goat!?

Addy checking out a picture of herself. A third place winning picture of herself!

Cool train

We finished the night with fireworks. Addy was entertaining everyone around us by exclaiming "that is so humiliating" at all the fireworks she liked. She has no idea what that word means but she says it clearly and with gusto.

Check out more fair stuff here.

Sunday

We started Sunday at the Farmers Market. There were only 5 vendors there but we were able to get some corn, carrots, and peaches.

Addy said she wanted to buy carrots for the Easter Bunny. How can you say no to that.

The rest of the day was spent at the lake. Addy is getting really good at swimming with her dad. She was VERY proud of herself for peeing on him in the water. In her defense she did ask my permission first. How could I say no, she wasn't peeing on me (insert evil laugh here).

Addy gathered more cattails for her growing collection.
Notice the storm clouds in the background? We saw quite a lightning show as we hauled booty back to the dock.

Sand castles in the shade.

Froggy Park

Last Monday John and I picked Addy up from school and headed to Addy's favorite park for a picnic. Addy calls it Froggy Park because of this slide. Unfortunately if you are not there in the morning the slide is to hot to use by mid-day.

Not so sure about this one

Addy's "boat"

Calling Captain Tula to the bridge, calling Captain Tula.
I don't know where she comes up with this stuff.

A little rock climbing

She liked the idea but did not enjoy being at the summit and came right back down in tears

Cooling off before heading home, in protest

We Have Tomatoes!

Our little tomatoes in our little garden are here!

My daughter, Jane of the Garden, enjoyed picking them for the first time. My insistence that she put her dress back on before coming outside was disregarded as a mere suggestion.

So pretty

Addy trying her the fruits of her labor. She didn't like it.
