9 Month Check-Up

Addy had her 9 month check-up today. She is just under 29 inches long and 17.5 pounds! She is almost in the 95th percentile for her height. Because she is so long and lean and energetic we have to load her up with more protein so she gets to have meat 3 times a day. Her dad is so jealous!

This was also the first time the John has been able to come to one of Addy's doctors appointments. I don't think it was a coincidence that it was also the first appointment that she didn't need shots!

9 Months Old!

9 months old and still a ham! She was not placed for this picture, she posed all on her own.
Gosh Darn, she's cute!

John and I looked at a picture of her when she was 3 months old last night and we just can't believe how big she is now and how fast the time has gone by.

That's My Girl

While we were playing today I noticed that Addy and I had assumed the same seated position!

Sculpture Show

Loveland is the #1 place in the country for bronze sculpture artists (so we brag, anyway). One weekend in August the city hosts the Sculpture In the Park, The Loveland Sculpture Invitational Show and Sale (340 artists over 3500 pieces), and Art in the park. Last year 18o artist participated in the Sculpture in the Park show alone and with over one millions dollars in sales it is the largest outdoor juried sculpture show in the U.S. The artwork is amazing!

On the way to the show; Addy's first school bus ride

This can be yours for a mere $110,000

Our neighbor made this piece

A lot of wood and glass pieces this year

I thought this artist stuff was interesting

I walked behind Addy and John to make sure Addy didn't reach out and love a $20,000 "toy"

These are made entirely of nails

The Thinking Three

John was very inspired. He found this piece of art in his lemonade cup!

Heading back home
Some of the money from the shows is donated and used to buy sculpture to place around the city.

Daddy's Little Girl

You little one are daddy's pride,
the joy you bring I cannot hide.
Ten little fingers and ten little toes,
your beautiful eyes and button nose.
How could I even dream
what having you would really mean.
I do wish I would've known
that you are really a gift on loan
Tho', I could not have prepared,
for the gift of love that God has shared.

They're Here!

The toofers have arrived! I was so surprised. When I dropped her off at grandpa's house she was all gums and when I picked her up she had THREE teeth! And it looks like another one came through last night. If she keeps this up she will have a mouth full by next week!

So proud of her new smile!

8 Months Old!

Addison is growing like a weed! Her hair is starting to fill in, she even has little curls in the back. Her first tooth is still teasing us and we have had a few sleep-less nights. She will stay up in the the crawl position but she is still working on coordinating all the limbs. It frustrates her after a while, you can tell she wants to go exploring.

We have been expanding her dining selection:
French fries - YES
Fresh fruit pieces - all over body shudder and then spits it out
Zwieback toast - Yummy
Chicken baby food- not so much ( I don't blame her it smells like cat food)
Peanut butter- still deciding
Applesauce - absolutely not
Banana baby food- More Please!

So Wierd I Had To Blog It

What is the last thing you would expect to see running at you while fishing at 10 pm in a small pond in Loveland, Co? If you said an alligator you would be correct! We have a Caimen (south american alligator), at least 5 feet long, living in a pond on the south side of town. It has been seen a couple of times during the last couple weeks and it even made the local paper but it was passed off like an alien sighting and nothing was followed up on.....until it came from the depths of Jayhawker Pond and ran at a couple boys. When Animal Control arrived, I am sure for C.Y.A. purposes, he spotted the reptile lounging on the shore and CALLED FOR HELP!

The matter is being taken seriously now! The pond has been closed and Division of Wildlife is attempting to catch it, and rumor has it, given the approval to shot on site. I am really curious who thought this would make a good pet!
