Two Month Check-up

Addison went to the doctor today for her two month check-up. She weighs 10 pounds and 11 ounces and is just under 24 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile for her weight and 90th percentile for her height. The doctor said Addy looks great! Unfortunately Addy also had to have 3 vaccinations today. The poor thing is still sore but she does not have the fever the doctor said she might get.

Addy learned to screech in delight in the last week or so. The first night she unveiled this new talent I was changing her diaper at about 3 in the morning and she let out a very loud squeal of delight (because getting your diaper changed is oh so much fun!). She woke John up from a dead sleep and had him running for the door to see what the problem was! We can't wait to see what she does next week!

Two Months Old!

Addison is two months old today!

New nicknames: Binkasaurous and Super Pooper
New fascination: Sticking her tongue out
New developments: Her crying is much louder and she will follow us with her eyes as we move around a room

Addy has graduated to the baby tub because she is too long for the bathroom sink. Addy cried throughout her bath today but as I finished she decided it wasn't so bad and calmed down. Look at her cute little milk tummy!

Addy loves her daddy! She gives us big smiles when we play, get her up from her nap and imitate the noises she makes. Her biggest joy these days seems to be when we change her diaper. She will smile and as soon as the diaper comes off she will start kicking up a storm! We have started calling it the bicycle kick. It takes us forever to finish changing her because we are laughing so hard.

Addy has become fascinated with the mobiles on her crib and changing table. I am very thankful for this because it allows me a minute to, um...get stuff done.

Addy knows when it's meal time. We always place a burp cloth under Addy's chin before we give her a bottle (she is a little droolly). When she sees that cloth coming her eyes get big, she starts breathing faster and she moves her head back and forth like she is looking for the bottle. A few seconds of pure excitement!

The Paisley Pot

Marie and my future sister-in-law, Chris, joined me at The Paisley Pot in Loveland last weekend to do some pottery painting. They have 250 pieces to choose from and a variety of paints, stamps and stencils to use. You paint your masterpiece, they pop it in the kiln, and a week later you pick it up (for an average price of $25). This is definitely going to be a new addiction for me (Yes, I am my mothers daughter!)

Marie painted a fairy coin-bank.

I painted this piggy bank for Addy.

Grandpa D & Grandma E

Grandparents bestow upon their grandchildren
The strength and wisdom that time
And experience have given them.

Grandchildren bless their Grandparents
With a youthful vitality and innocence
That help them stay young at heart forever.

Together they create a chain of love
Linking the past with the future.
The chain may lengthen,
But it will never part.

Uncle Gary

This is Gary's second visit with Addy. He is still a little unsure about the whole thing and doesn't want to hold her for more than a minute or two. I think he is still afraid of hurting her but they are so cute together!

Q: How do you like being an uncle?
A: It's awesome!

Q: Do you think Addy is jealous of your hair?
A: Yes, and she always will be.
Q: If Addy was a superhero what would her super power be?
A: Super pooping!
Q: Does Addy look more like a Cabbage Patch Doll or a Keibler Elf?
A: Cabbage Patch Doll.
Q: Do you agree that you and Addy have monkey toes?
A: No! That is false.
Q: If you had to teach Addy one thing what would it be?
A: Well, since she already has farting down, it would have to be how to make her hair look awesome!

Auntie Marie Comes to Town

Marie met her niece for the first time this weekend. Aunt Marie held onto her as much as possible on Friday and Saturday because she knew once the grandparents arrived it was all over!

Q:What do you think of your niece? Do you like being an Aunt?
A: She is absolutely adorable and of course I love it!

Q: If you had to give Addy a nickname what would it be?
A: I like one of the nicknames her mom gave her ....Binki-saurous.

Q: Who do you think Addy looks like?
A: Her mom.

Q: What is your favorite baby part? (I am partial to baby tummy!)
A: Her eyes. I think they will be hazel like her grandmas.

Q: Do you want to stay forever and just hold Addy?
A: Hell Yes!

Here are some more portraits of Addy taken when she was three weeks old.
It's amazing how much she has grown since these were taken.

Honorary Aunts & Uncles

Addison has a large extended family of "aunts" and "uncles" on both sides of the family. The great thing is that many of these relatives work for the Loveland Police Department so Addy is not going to get away with anything when she is a teenager!(Which I think is only fair since my mom always knew when I was pulled over!)
Addy's big brother, Colton, has found out that WE ARE ALWAYS WATCHING. He even called once to give his side of the story before I knew that he had been stopped!

Uncle Rod
(2nd visit)

Addy was not to fond of Uncle Rod the first time he came to visit. Uncle Rod was in uniform and she cried and cried until I took her back, something she had not done before and has not done since. I guess she has yet to appreciate a man in uniform!
