Easter Bunny

We went to visit the Easter Bunny for the first time today. I was amazed that we were the only ones there, we anticipated an hour wait. Addy picked out her Easter dress today so she could have her picture taken in it. Once she saw this one the search was over. We tried to change her mind but it was love at first sight. This dress reminds me of the 80's. It is a hot pink, ruffled, sequined, asymmetric dress with matching hot pink converse. I had to fight the urge to add leg warmers and tease her hair. Is she too young for blue eye shadow?

Addy kept asking me where the Easter Bunny lives and I could not answer the question, never really thought about it. On the way home tonight we stopped at the bookstore and picked out a couple books about the Easter Bunny. We found out that he learned his craft from a kindly, round old couple and he know lives under a tree in the woods. Know you know.

Addy: Okay Daddy let's go!

Addy: Mommy I am going to miss you! (begins crying)
Me: I will miss you too, Goodnight.
Addy: (drying her eyes, gives me another look and turns to her dad) Let's go Daddy!
Addy:(turns back to me with sad face) But I will miss you so much Mommy.
Stage direction: (turns back to Daddy and skips off to bed with Daddy in tow)

So Big

This is a size 5 outfit on a 3 year old. I had hoped it would be a bit big for her to grow into but it fits perfectly. Addy loved this outfit I gave her tonight. She says it made her look like a rock star and gave her rock star moves!
Addy twisted her scarf around to the back and became SUPER ADDY THE SUPERHERO!
Then she twisted it around in front to look like a tie and said she was President Obama.
(Think she was watching the news today?)

Toddler Theater II

Grandpa Jim and I took Addy to see Disney on Ice tonight.
Can't peel her eyes off the ice

It was a good show and completely different then the one we saw in December. They touched on just about all the classics in two hours. Addy said she really liked the show but she didn't really care for the Beast and Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. Such a critic!

It was a shame Grandpa D couldn't be there. They did a stirring rendition of "It's a Small World!"

Princess Bed

A friend at work's princesses are teenagers now so she passed down this lovely "princess net" for Addy.
I was happy to see that it was big enough to fit Addy's huge bed.

As you can see she is happy with it. period.

Pot O'Gold

When I got home tonight I discovered that a leprechaun had come to visit. I found a trail of gold coins in the front yard so I called Addy outside to help me follow the trail.

The trail led us to a little leprechaun candy and a the pot of gold, a new game!

Addy is fascinated with fishing so I got her a Tinkerbell fishing game.
It is a lot harder then I remember!

Following a trail of gold coins with a flashlight looking for treasure is a lot of fun!

I'm A Hard Worker

Addy calling for backup to help clean her room.
It is EXHAUSTING picking up your toys and putting them on the bed so Mommy can clean!

First Day of School

Addy had a really good first day of school. I was anticipating an upset child, I only got mild hesitation. When Grandpa Jim arrived to pick her up he had to bribe her with McDonalds to get her to leave and she keeps asking when she gets to go back to school.

I love the little report card I got telling me what she did all day. I think the "talkative and friendly" will be repeated on report cards for years to come.

Oh, Little Buddy

Addy has an imaginary friend named Little Buddy. Little Buddy is a little brown mouse (side note: Little Buddy farts). He pops up every now and again but today he was with us ALL day. Addy kept telling me that Little Buddy was cold and he needed her princess umbrella to keep warm. Let's see...umm...No. She tried and tried and finally got fed up with me and my lack of understanding and went to her room. I noticed that peace and quiet had filled the house and I went to investigate and found this.
So Sweet

I asked Addy later why she had gone to bed and she told me it was because she had "given up on me." She may have given up on me but she had a new tactic waiting in the wings. She asked to call her Daddy which we frequently do during his commute home. As soon as she had him on the phone the little stinker ratted me out!
"Daddy, Little Buddy is cold and Mommy won't let me have my umbrella so he can be warm."
Daddy was on my side, apparently she had tried this with him a few days ago too. When Daddy arrived home she tried again, probably thinking he could not resist the combination of the horror of my mistaken decision and her big baby cuteness.
She was wrong.

Candy Apple

I found these neat caramel wraps at the grocery store and had to bring them home for Addy.
I am sure that I have probably eaten one at some point in my life but I don't remember ever having a candy apple, so I figured we could try one together.

They were very easy to make and looked delicious!

Going in for the bite...

Not sure what to do here...

New plan of attack....

success!
