Urgent Care
Yesterday
Addy looked like this when she got up (just add a little pink puffiness). The night before she had poked herself in the eye with the lid of a jar candle that has a little knob on the top. She was fine when she went to bed but when she woke up..not so fine. She couldn't open her eye and she had tears gushing down her face, so away to urgent care we went.
The doctor numbed her eye so she could open it then put some orange dye on her eyeball so that the injury would show up under a black light. It was a pretty neat technique and Addy was temporarily pacified by the pretty purple light. The doctor said the injury was pretty minor and she would be good as new in a couple of days.
Even though Addy was in a lot of pain she was very good in the doctors office. As soon as she saw the stethoscope she moved her stuffed animal out of the way so they could listen to her lungs/heart. When she say the thermometer she lifted her arm up before being asked so the nurse could take her temperature. She didn't even protest too loudly when the doctor was checking her eye. On the way out Addy thanked me for taking her to the doctor which the nurses found very amusing.
For the rest of the morning Addy let out a little howl of pain every few minutes for hours until she exhausted herself to the point she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Poor baby.

Addy looks better but definitely not healed and she doesn't seem to be in any pain today which is a big improvement.

Addy's Playground
If Addy had the option she would spend all day every day outside playing so we decided to build her a little play area so she had something to do in the backyard.
Colton and his new roommates came over to help us move 3 tons of sand in exchange for free furniture. John and I raked and assembled. Addy directed.
Addy named her pool Madagascar because of the zebra. Not the Marty pool, the Madagascar pool. I love it.

Dear Binkie Letter
Dear Binkie,You have been a true friend to me through thick and thin. You celebrated with me and you were there to comfort me when I was sick or tired. I cannot thank you enough for your companionship. But it is time to say our goodbyes, because my mommy is making me. Please be comforted with the knowledge that I will miss you more then I can say and I know that during dark times to come I will call out for you, even though I know you are gone. Farewell good friend, you will be in my thoughts.

What!?
Such an angelic face.Right? Riiiigghhht. Miss Addison has a thing for hitting when she gets amped up. These days when she is told to stop she looks me right in the eye with a little grin on her face and says, and this is a direct quote, "What, I'm doing nothing." Not a blink, not a waiver, not one sign of guilt followed by more hitting.Wait....did you hear that too?
Yep, there it is again. The sound of my mother laughing at me!

Oh, How Pretty
Addy is still feeling under the weather so John tried to cheer her up with some jewelry that belonged to his mom.
Addy lit up when she saw the jewelry.
She was running around the house yelling "I'm a princess" and "I'm so pretty".

Mom, I Need Medicine
Addy: Mom, I need medicine.Me: Why?
Addy: For my tummy.
Me: Medicine is for when you are sick and you are not sick.
Addy: I need to go to the doctor.
Me: Oh, okay Addy...
and at 1100 am up came breakfast and out went dinner. Addy saved the fun stuff for Grandpa Jim today. She still has a 100 degree temp but isn't really out of sorts. She rarely is so it is hard to tell when she is sick ( that is my story and I am sticking to it). Guess I should listen to the smart 2 year old next time.

LOVE Project
I took these photos as a Father's Day gift for John. The idea came from Tanya who forwarded me this. I put my spin on it and I love the the results. Thanks to Grandma and PopPop for playing photo assistant!
