CSU Football

We took Addy to her first football game today.
The Colorado State University VS Weber State game in Fort Collins.
We made it through the first quarter before we had to seek shelter. The rain and wind were too much for us and the little one. It was in the mid 40's with wind and rain. Brrrrr.
After a little time indoors we decided to try to watch the game from a local restaurant only to discover that the game was not televised. Oh well.
Addy enjoyed herself. All the loud cheering and cannons did not bother her (yes there was a cannon). She was so fascinated that it was a bit of a challenge getting her to focus on the 25 rows of steps she needed to climb to get to our seats.

My Little Artist

A month ago I took Addy to Fire It Up Ceramics in Loveland for Paint A Story

The owner reads a story to the kids and then they get to paint a figurine that relates to the story. The story was One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and Addy painted a pretty fish.
Addy made it about half-way through the story before she became bored and requested to cut to the chase-painting!

After Addy finished painting she spent a little time looking around the shop. She noticed the large dragon painted on one of the walls, looked it up and down, and in her best big girl voice announced "that dragon is crap!"
Thaaaaank you Addy!
I am going to wait a little while before I step foot in that store again.

(bad cell pics, sorry)

Broncos!

For John's birthday I bought tickets to the Denver Broncos VS Chicago Bears football game.
Even though it was a preseason game it promised to be an interesting one since the Bears new QB is Denver's traded and unloved former QB.
It was a rowdy game until everyone realized the Bears were going to walk away with the win!

The weekend before the game we all went on a tour of Invesco Field @ Mile High
Home of the Broncos
The tour was awesome! We got to see things we will never be able to afford to see again!

John's happy place- the keg room

On the tour we got to tour: visitors locker room, executive suites, clubs, club level, press areas, the field...

Boatin'

Addy is a little fish like her dad, she loves being in the water.

The wind in her hair made a lovely hair-do

Bubble Bubble

These are pictures I took a couple weeks ago for the iHeart Faces photo challenge.
I spent hours trying to get two computers to work well enough to post this top picture but I was unsuccessful. What I was successful at was not drop-kicking my laptop.

Addy-ism:
Me: Addy do you want to make a sand castle?
Addy: No, that's a pain in the ass
Uncle Joe: where did she learn that?
Daddy: (clearing throat) Well, umm

Addy's Cottage

I have been in the market for a little playhouse for Addy for her new playground. I stumbled across this at a kids second hand store in Ft.Collins and fell in love with it.

This baby is fully loaded. It has a fireplace, clock, sink, phone, two tables, seats, windows with shutters, and a doorbell.

We personalized the house with princess stickers but I still want to add a little "Addy's House" sign out front. Maybe I could find a mailbox too!

Addy now has fancier digs then her dad and I do. She has a house with a pool!

Addy-ism
Addy: Mom you're a good mommy.
Me: Thank you! Why am I a good mommy?
Addy: Because you're not a monster.
Me: Oh

I Heart Play Doh

I had forgotten how much fun play-doh is!
Addy loves it too. She wants to play with it as soon as she gets up and as soon as she comes home in the afternoon. I bought a set for home and grandpa's house so she is never to far from a play-doh fix!

Initially she was excited because the set came with saftey scissors to cut the doh with and she has always wanted to be able to play with scissors.

Does anyone else love the smell of play-doh?

Pony Ride

Larimer County Fair

I can't believe my baby is old enough to ride a pony all by herself!

She wasn't interested the first time we tried to get her to ride but changed her mind as we were getting ready to leave the fair.

She seemed to enjoy herself but became bored and asked to get off before the "ride" was over

Expressions

Addy agreed to the photo shoot on one condition; she could pick the props. So we rounded up a giraffe, a flag, a water bottle and a toy she has not played with since she was truly a baby.
I wanted to take pictures of Addy to show off her pretty new "California dress" with the California trees on it (palm trees) for Grandma. As I was editing the pictures I noticed that I had captured all her Addy-spressions; happy, bored, curious, irritated, etc. So the dress was trumped by the face (she really likes the dress though, Grandma).

The others are videos of Addy showing off her moves last week.

Urgent Care

Yesterday
Addy looked like this when she got up (just add a little pink puffiness). The night before she had poked herself in the eye with the lid of a jar candle that has a little knob on the top. She was fine when she went to bed but when she woke up..not so fine. She couldn't open her eye and she had tears gushing down her face, so away to urgent care we went.

The doctor numbed her eye so she could open it then put some orange dye on her eyeball so that the injury would show up under a black light. It was a pretty neat technique and Addy was temporarily pacified by the pretty purple light. The doctor said the injury was pretty minor and she would be good as new in a couple of days.

Even though Addy was in a lot of pain she was very good in the doctors office. As soon as she saw the stethoscope she moved her stuffed animal out of the way so they could listen to her lungs/heart. When she say the thermometer she lifted her arm up before being asked so the nurse could take her temperature. She didn't even protest too loudly when the doctor was checking her eye. On the way out Addy thanked me for taking her to the doctor which the nurses found very amusing.

For the rest of the morning Addy let out a little howl of pain every few minutes for hours until she exhausted herself to the point she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Poor baby.

Today
Addy looks better but definitely not healed and she doesn't seem to be in any pain today which is a big improvement.

Addy's Playground

If Addy had the option she would spend all day every day outside playing so we decided to build her a little play area so she had something to do in the backyard.

Colton and his new roommates came over to help us move 3 tons of sand in exchange for free furniture. John and I raked and assembled. Addy directed.

Addy named her pool Madagascar because of the zebra. Not the Marty pool, the Madagascar pool. I love it.

We are never going to get her back indoors...well maybe if I bribe her with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
