Proud Mama

Addy was getting a lot of attention from people this week. We stopped by the County Clerk's office to renew some plates and as soon as we sat down in line she started turning heads. Two clerks stopped helping people to comment on her beautiful eyes. While I was actually at the counter one clerk kept Addy entertained and another left her desk and came across the room to see if she was as pretty up close...and of course she is! I have never seen anything like it, especially at the DMV!

After that stop we went to the grocery store and while we were in line to check out a lady left her place in another line to get a better look at Addy. She said " I spotted her from across the store".

And, of course, Addy gets her weekly dose of oogling from the ladies at Weight Watchers!

5 Months Old!

Addy is 5 months old today! She had her first taste of rice cereal today...and it was not a hit.

Yesterday I was "practicing" rolling over with Addy and she was able to do it on her own a couple of times. She can pull herself up from a reclined position and she is getting really good about putting her pacifier in her mouth on her own (even if it is upside down!)

I was pulling Addy into a sitting position and then laying her back onto a pillow this afternoon. After a couple times Addy figured out the game and started throwing her weight back so she would plop onto the pillow! She thought that was great fun!

Picture Day

I love Portrait Innovations! Pictures printed in 30 minutes-instant (almost) gratification!
Addy cooperated for 3 wardrobe changes and only cried when we tried to get a picture of her on her tummy.

This picture was taken at the end of the session and she was starting to get tired so I put her pacifier in her mouth to calm her, then pulled the plug, snapped the picture, plugged her back in and repeated the cycle a few more times.

There was quite a show going on behind the photographer. Grandparents, cousins and myself all jumping around making noises trying to get Addy to smile for the pictures. I think we all did pretty good!

Today we walked around Estes Park with Grandma E and Grandpa D. This is the first time that I put Addy in this baby backpack and she really seemed to like it. She was able to sit up and see everything that was going on.

It started snowing after lunch so we covered her with the blanket. All warm and cozy she was fast asleep within minutes. I gotta say I really like this new trick!

The blanket also saved Addy from getting whacked upside the head with my ponytail (which apparently happened a couple of times before I was clued in! Poor baby!)

Zany Zoo Zone

We visited the Denver Zoo today with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Gary and his friend Kyle.

I think this means play time is over!

Addy stayed awake for over two hours watching knee caps go by!
Grandma tip of the day:
Take away the stimulation and the baby will sleep!
As soon as we covered the stroller with Addy's blanket she was out cold.

Addison has decided that baths are not fun. She has cried through every bath for the last month and nothing seems to help. Today I had John help me sit her up while I washed her, hoping that would help. It didn't. She started fussing as soon as she saw the tub. I hope this is a short phase.

When the bath is over she is all smiles again!
