Grandpa Jim and Addy

Tonight we went Trick-Or-Treating with Addy's cousins, Grandpa Jim, Uncle Jim and Aunt Chris #2. We had the nicest weather tonight that anyone could remember on a Halloween. It was warm and clear, usually it has snowed by Halloween or is snowing on Halloween.

The first costume we tried out was a chicken outfit. It turned out to be a little too big for her to comfortably walk in and too warm to wear.

Fortunately I brought a back-up outfit. We put Addy is some pink sweats and bunny ears. She seemed a lot more comfortable in this. Had it been snowing we would have stuck with the chicken.

Can we go now?

I really am ready to go now

Trick-Or-Treat!

Addy figured Trick-Or-Treating out pretty quickly. She went to every door with her cousins carrying her neat little candy corn bag (thanks Grandma!). She would say "trick-or treat" before the resident opened the door and "thank you" after they closed it but she did say it! She liked checking out everyone's pumpkins and she did not get scared at any of the homes. Everyone was surprised how well she did walking. I think we figured that we walked about two miles round trip and Addy only rode in her stroller for the last 15 feet!

Score!

Too much candy

Thank You Grandma

Thank you for this cute candy bag. Addy filled it two times over with candy tonight. It worked especially well because it kind of looked like she was carrying a carrot around.

Addison G., Daddy Assistant

Most evenings after dinner Addy and Daddy sit down at the kitchen table and work on files.
Addison sits in her chair with some paper and pens and goes to work helping Daddy.

Hi Mommy, welcome to our office.

Tomboy vs. Girly-Girl

Addy loves to be outdoors. She spends most of her day outside when she is with Grandpa Jim and Addy and I spend a lot of time together running errands. She asks everyday to go for a walk. "Walking " usually means we push her in a stroller, she is over the novelty of being able to walk . Addy is perfectly happy playing in dirt, sand, water, whatever. Her favorite toys are balls and balloons. Addy has owned camo clothes since before she was born. She will play ball with the dogs and help carry firewood. She has the tomboy spirit.

On the other hand Addy loves pretty things. She like shoes and jewelry and pretty clothes.
Her movements tend to be dainty, she will cross her legs and fold her hands. Addy has wonderful manners. She says please, thank you, and your welcome (she actually says please instead of yes!).

She is always borrowing our chapstick and asking for lotion for her hands. She will imitate me putting on makeup and she has been brushing her own hair and teeth since before she could walk. She has a girly air.

Addison stood at the front door and intently watched me bring in her pumpkin. She kept telling me "careful, careful" until I set the pumpkin down on the table for her. She sat down at the kitchen table and rubbed her hands together as she chose the perfect colors then went to work.

Pickin' Punkins II

On Saturday we took Addison back to Anderson Farms in Erie, Colorado to pick out her Halloween pumpkin.
This is a popular place to visit. We heard someone say that some days they have 8,000 people come through the gate! And at about 10 bucks a head they are making money hand over fist!

We were given orange "bracelets" to wear at the front gate to show that we had payed admission. Addy kept asking where hers was so one of the employees grabbed one for her to put on. Two minutes later she was done with it.

Addy was a little tired and had no interest in smiling for the camera. In 67 shots I have only one were she is looking at me.

Pretty pumpkins

I can't believe Jim fit in there!

We rode a wagon through Animal Acres, past the Terror in the Corn maze, and out to the pumpkin patch.

This one please!
