Jump Teddy Bear

I came across The Gummy Bear Song on YouTube and thought Addy would get a kick out of it.
She liked it alright. She was obsessed with it for about a week. As soon as she got up in the morning she would climb onto the chair in front of the computer and ask to watch either "jump teddy bear" or "pig and doggie" over and over again until I turned it on. After 20 minutes I usually can't stand it anymore and would prefer to hear her tantrum then the lyrics to these songs. It has been a couple of weeks and she seems to have forgotten about them but to be on the safe side I am doing this blog on the sly while her Daddy is distracting her!

I {Heart} Autumn

What do you like best about Fall?
I love the change in the weather, especially the little chill in the air, and the colors of the trees.
I think autumn for me means the beginning of the holidays, evenings in front of the fireplace and pumpkins!

  • Do you have any family traditions for this time of year?
  • I love going to Anderson Farms in Erie, Colorado. They have giant corn mazes, a huge pumpkin patch, petting zoo, Terror in the Corn haunted corn maze...

  • What’s your favorite Halloween chocolate?
  • Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

  • Is there any Halloween treat you do not like?
  • Candy Corn. Yuck!

  • What has been the best Halloween costume you’ve ever dressed up in?

  • The costume that really sticks out in my mind was a butterfly outfit I wore when I was about 9 years old. I think it was my dad that madethe wings that were hand painted. Unfortunately it rained while we were trick or treating and the wings melted. It was still a really cool costume.

    The Greatest Show On Earth...

...for kids. Last night we saw the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus at the Denver Coliseum. This was Addy and Daddy's first circus!

    Racing to the show

    Circus in Motion

This was a two hour show and Addy never took her eyes of the stage. Absolutely mesmerized.

We had been telling her all day that she was going to get to see elephants and every once in a while during the show she would ask where they were. She was sooooo excited when they made their entrance. This is the only good shot I got of the elephants because, of course, my camera battery died at this point.

Being circus royalty is very tiring.

    I speak from experience!

    Baby Bling

Addy is a girl after my own heart. She likes jewelry! I keep a little jewelry holder next to my bed and Addy likes to sit on my bed and try on each piece: watch, rings, bracelet, etc.
    Binky, Bracelets, Diaper
    What more do you need?

    Croc shoe bling

    Addy jewelry designed by Mommy

I made the mistake of painting my toenails in front of Addison one day and she begged and pleaded until I would paint her toes too. She was very proud of her "pretty toe".

It doesn't matter where I had the nail polish she seems to find it.
    That's my girly-girl.

    Mommy Sleep

I spend most of the year working the graveyard shift from 9pm till 7am. Recently Addison has figured out that if I am away from her during the day I am sleeping. When I drop her of with PaPa she announces "Mommy sleep" and reminds him that I am sleeping periodically through the day. When she is with Daddy on Sundays while I sleep she repeatedly asks him "Mommy sleep?" If she wants me she knows to go looking for me in the bedroom. So cute and a little sad.

My friend Tanya works a lot of night shifts with me. When her tween daughter was little she drew a portrait of the family:Dad, brothers, and the artist all standing together with Tanya asleep in bed in the background. Makes you want to cry.

A newer co-worker of mine has been working a lot of graveyard shifts lately. Her 2 year old daughter asked her last week if she had moved out of their home. Makes you want to quit your job.

    Birdie Baby

Hey! Who let a chicken in the house?!

    Where?

    Who, me?

    I'm a fly-fly Mommy, duh.
You know Auntie Tanya has a new chicken plucker.
    Not funny Mommy.

    Dream Baby, Dream

    Sleep, Baby, sleep,
    Dream, Baby, dream,
    Dance in the starlight,
    Swing from a moonbeam.
    Imagine the things
    You'll grow up to be,
    Create your own world
    In still reverie.

    Play on the playgrounds
    You're meant to explore,
    Sail all your sailboats
    To faraway shores.
    The future is yours, Baby,
    To have and to hold,
    Take hold of your fancies;
    Be strong and be bold!

    Sleep, Baby, Sleep,
    Swing from a moonbeam,
    Tomorrow's your future,
    So Dream, Baby, Dream.

    Happy Birthday Daddy II

    Happy Birthday John!

The Hein family celebrated John's birthday at The Stonehouse Grille in Old Town Fort Collins. The restaurant was nice enough to let me bring in John's birthday pie (coconut cream) but refused to let me add on the 45 candles because of the fire danger. I guess that is understandable. I probably wouldn't want that kind of inferno in the middle of my restaurant either!

    Wedding Day

Congrats to the new Jim and Chris Hein!
John's brother Jim was married at this gorgeous church last weekend. The church is called the Chapel on the Rock.

It is located in Allenspark, Colorado near Estes Park. The scenery is lovely and I have never been inside such a quaint little church. John and I have driven by it a few times and always wondered what it looked like inside. Addy kept herself entertained during the Catholic ceremony by pointng out the "babies" (baby Jesus) around the chapel.

    I now have 3 sister-in-law's named Chris.
Gary, your girlfriends name isn't Chris is it?

    Addy's First Camping Trip

We took Addison camping for the first time a couple weekends ago. I wasn't sure how she was going to handle it but, in true Addy fashion, she adapted and enjoyed herself. As soon as she got out of the car she started exploring. She found a log near the campfire that became her seat and she helped us cook and collect firewood. I was being eaten alive by bugs that weekend so I applied bug spray liberally and often. Addy thought the bottle of bug spray was a cool thing to have if Mommy had it all the time so she spent a good part of the weekend carrying it around like a doll and pretended to spray her arms.

Our campsite was in the middle of a big four-wheeling area (which we did not realize at first) so we did a little off-roading in the truck. All of that bouncing around would keep most people awake and holding on for dear life, but not Addy, she settled into her car seat and passed out!

Addison spent the weekend covered in dirt. After the first evening I just gave up trying to keep her face and hands clean. She wore jeans the whole weekend because of the bugs and she still managed to turn every diaper black with dirt. I have not figured out how she managed to do that.

    My Moonbeam

Addy had her first baby gymnastics class today at Mountain Gymnastics in Ft. Collins. The under 24 months students are the moonbeams. The gym is HUGE. They had three classes going at once and we didn't have any problems running into anyone...unless one of the little moonbeams made a run for it.

    Addy on the balance beam

Today's class was about over, through and under objects. All of which I had to do along side her. We had a blast but my back is screaming for Advil.
"Lassie, tell them I'm in the well!"

    On the trampoline

Ahh, my favorite, The Pit. This is a giant whole in the floor filled with big foam pieces piled over a trampoline. I now know what it is like to be in quick sand, forget about getting out of this thing in a timely manor. And what was I thinking about while lounging in the pit?
What do you suppose they do if some kid with lice jumps in here?

Addy spent a good portion of her time in the pit flirting with a little boy.
    That's my girl!
The kids got to play wiffle golf at the end of the class. Addy's favorite toy in the world is a ball. She was running around stealing everyone else's while I ran behind her replacing the ones she took and making apologies for my little ball-burglar.
